"One is not born a swimmer, but becomes one". Since the age of 7, this sentence motivates me and helps me strive to be the best.
To realise my childhood dream of "becoming Olympic Champion" I joined the Alliance Dijon Natation from primary school, and then in later life attended the College of Lentillères, here I discovered daily workouts, Monday to Saturday, and the correct physical preparation. Finally I joined the Hope Pole and the Lycée Jean-Marc Boivin to read for my degree for 4 years and to keep training at the highest level.
Attempting to become World Champion, I struggled to achieve consistent good results at important competitions. After some hard losses, a new challenge emerged in my life. I decided to focus on my studies and my life as a whole and leave the pool for a while. A year later however I made my return to competition.
The day everything changed: the accident
Everything was going well for me, my swimming, my studies, I felt I was finally becoming the man I was supposed to become. Then in July 2008, I had a motorcycle accident that brought my promising career to an abrupt end.
After several weeks of hospitalisation, I discovered that my left arm was paralysed, and that even with several operations, my arm would recover very little mobility.
After several months of recovery, I would make my return to the pool, firstly for my rehabilitation, and then on a bet with my coach Sylvain Freville, He wanted me to begin training again, and this is when we realised that disability sport would be my route to return to competition.
I now swim with only my right arm.
Since 2009, through training, rehabilitation and competition, I have managed to compete and win on both a national and international stage, and in turn have managed to fulfil my childhood dream: "Becoming Olympic champion"
