About the project
Our Weightlifting Club North Tyneside Barbells is looking for funding to invest in new equipment.
Due to the growth of our club within its first year it is now clear we need to expand very quickly in order to keep the quality of coaching at its best.
North Tyneside Barbells is a Weightlifting Club based in Howdon, Wallsend. The club has various disciplines within it such as Olympic weight lifting, Power lifting and sports specific athletic development. We coach kids as young as 8 years old and have a very impressive youth team at present boasting Northern Area champions and even a British medallist .
All sessions are run by British Weightlifting affiliated coaches.
The money raised will be used to purchase specialist equipment needed in order to take part in the sport of weightlifting.
specialist in the sense that in order for us to continue to coach juniors, we must have a certain type bars and weight plates to maximise the safety of the weightlifter.
Weight lifting equipment has never been the cheapest of equipment and now due to the popularity of the fitness industry prices seem to be inflating as and when the manufacturers choose. You tend to pay for weight by the kilo, problem we are having is as our kids get stronger our bills get higher!!!
A funding grant would be a massive help in helping these kids continue to develop and grow stronger.
